President and Founder

David Chao is president and founder of Oakmark Capital and is responsible for managing the company's investment portfolio. Prior to founding Oakmark Capital, David Chao worked for WebEx and Morgan Stanley. (WebEx was acquired by Cisco Systems for $3.2B in 2007.) As part of the Cisco Software Collaboration Group (SCG), David Chao helped WebEx and SCG consistently achieve 24% year over year revenue growth by optimizing and streamlining sales processes and efficiencies. While at Morgan Stanley, David Chao managed multi-million dollar portfolios for high net worth investors. David Chao holds a B.S. from the University of California at Davis.
